​​During this 5 hour workshop, Katherine Wu will review the basic principles of creating jewelry using the lost wax casting method. Guests will learn how to carve their own designs into jewelers wax using a variety of tools and make a wax carving of their unique ring design!

​At the end of our time together, the wax rings will be taken to be cast in silver and polished. In 3-4 weeks, guests will receive the custom ring they carved in class by mail.

Welcome to Conversations in Paint: Magical Item! In this watercolor workshop, you’ll be introduced to a variety of techniques such as wet on wet, wet on dry, flat wash, and gradients. You’ll be mixing and matching these techniques in different ways as you explore the possibilities of watercolor painting. Please bring in an object of your own that feels “magical or mythical, real or invented;” something that conjures a memory, an emotion, or takes you to a place and time. We will collectively be painting from our own and each others’ objects while sharing stories and learning about each other. Instructed by Ray.
