Dear Creatives,
Welcome to September! 💘 In the shadow of Fashion Week, we've collected a variety of artsy events (some about fashion!) that we think you might enjoy. From outdoor markets to intimate lectures, use these activities in the last few days of summer to explore your city—and maybe even find a new creative passion to take you through winter.
As always, we invite you to join our Instagram broadcast channel, the Art Happenings - NYC, to be the first to hear about any exciting events we have planned in the city (and to learn about extra events we couldn’t fit in the newsletter)!

🪡 labor of love: deconstructing value and craft in fashion (FREE) by Understudy Store

785 Hart Street, Brooklyn, NY
Presented by the team at Understudy, join us for a conversation with craftspeople, designers, and activists who will share how their work contributes to healing an exploitative and wasteful fashion industry. We will highlight both the innovative and traditional craft practices that creatives in NYC are advancing to create a better future for all participants in the global supply chain.
By unpacking the complexities of craft and production, we will foster a deeper understanding of the many steps that go into creating wearable artwork. Our goal is to open up a conversation rooted in hope and collectively imagine a radical fashion world in which labor is valued and respected.
